My first blog post When I started blogging in 2005, I was a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of six children (ages 17, 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1). Because I’d never planned on being a mom, my life was far from where I’d ever thought it would be. I remember there was nothing about the reflection in the mirror that resembled the woman I thought I’d be, and I was struggling to figure out who I was. Kinfolk exemplifies the quintessential sense of worldwide community I believe we all need—by offering a dynamic mix of print and online media, including a quarterly magazine, daily posts, bestselling books, international events and a gallery space in the heart of Copenhagen. I’m not always right… I’m not always at my best… I don’t always respond the way I should… and no one that knows that better than my family. and I know, as difficult as it may be sometimes, I’m trying to allow myself room to grow, accept my inadequacies, forgive myself when I mess up, and never forget my value to this world… because it’s what I want for my children.

When I look back on my life, there are many things I would change if I had it to do over… but there are so many more that I wouldn’t.
